Folding@Home
Folding@home is a "distrubuted computing" project that uses the power of over 200,000 home computers to solve complex problems that help find cures for our most terrible human diseases. The project is based at Stanford University.
They support research into understand protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases like Huntington's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease,
Cancer,
Osteogenesis Imperfecta, and Parkinson's Disease.
To participate, you install a small program on your computer. When you are not using your computer, leave it connected to the Internet and it will go to work on current research. There is no security risk.
Huntington's Disease is our focus at Gryphyn Media, since we know people at risk for it. We formed a Folding Team in June 2006:
Folding@Gryphyn
